Gog/Magog War - Results in 7 Years of Plenty

Updated: Apr 17, 2023

It is important to know that what is mentioned here is a theory yet there are Biblical clues associated with some specific dates that act as confirming points. To lay the foundation of what this article will present, there are two dates that are being speculated for the start of the Gog/Magog war (with its seven years of utilizing the destroyed enemy’s abandoned stuff). One is fall/winter of 2023/2024. The other is fall/winter of 2026/2027. To learn how these dates are arrived at is found in the article titled "70 Weeks/Shavuots Prophecy of Daniel 9 - Overview Explanation".

It all begins with the Gog/Magog War. The outcome of this war reveals there will be a time of seven years of plenty of the word of Elohim because the inhabitants of Israel will be utilizing the spoils of war. In order to do this would require a certain level of peace in The Land, and rightfully so, since Gog and Magog have been defeated, Israel would be in a more secure position in the region.

Ezekiel 39:9-10 “Then those who inhabit the cities of Israel will go out and make fires with the weapons and burn them, both shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, war clubs and spears, and for seven years they will make fires of them. They will not take wood from the field or gather firewood from the forests, for they will make fires with the weapons; and they will take the spoil of those who despoiled them and seize the plunder of those who plundered them,” declares the Lord God.”

A period of 7 years of plenty harkens to the account of Joseph in Egypt who divinely interpreted Pharaoh’s dream of a time of plenty and a time of famine. In his new position of viceroy, Egypt stockpiled grain for 7 years because of the upcoming famine that would last 7 years. This is what could very well be playing out as a result of the Gog/Magog war with its reference to a 7 year time of plenty. After the 7 years of utilizing the spoils of that war, a seven year period of famine of the word of Elohim will follow. The basis of identifying a time of famine comes from the prophecy in Amos 8:11 that speak of a famine of the word of Elohim.

Amos 8:11 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord God, “When I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, But rather for hearing the words of the Lord.”

The revelation of an end time famine is what ties the Gog/Magog war with the account of Joseph and the 7 years of plenty and 7 years of famine. Even though we don’t have a date given in Amos 8 pertaining to the length of the time of the famine of the words of Elohim, we can use the pattern of the account of Joseph to make a determination, namely that the end time events will follow the pattern of our forefathers (in this case Joseph with the time of plenty and famine), with each period being 7 years too.

It is also surmised that when Elohim wins this war against Gog/Magog, this will be the time when people around the world will make Aliyah to Israel now that it has secure and expanded borders.

But the big news will be the ability for Israel to finally have control of the Temple Mount and begin to fulfill the dreams of the people of Elohim about building and dedicating an altar for sacrifices to Elohim. Remember, there must be an altar in operation so it can be shut down on 2037 in the midst of the final Daniel 9 week by the prince of the people/King of the North/little horn/the beast.

The end of the Gog/Magog war also signals another big new event when construction begins for the actual temple itself. Historically, the First Temple in Solomon’s day took 7 years to construct. It is quite conceivable that the new Third Temple will be completed within a similar time frame too.

1 Kings 6:1 "Now it came about in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, that is, the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord."

1 Kings 6:37-38 "In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv. 38 And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, that is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts and in accordance with all its plans. So he was seven years in building it."

Ironically, if construction of the Third Temple takes 7 years and is done during the time of plenty, it will immediately begin to suffer since the next period is the 7 years of famine.

All told, the seven years of plenty and the 7 years of famine of the words of Elohim means there is a total time span of fourteen years from the Gog/Magog war. The dates this author is watching for are within two different speculated fourteen year spans of 2023/2030/2037***. These dates represent the start/finish of the time of plenty and the start/finish of the time of famine. For more details about how these dates were determined, check out this article titled “The Prophetic Time of Plenty and Time of Famine”.

One final interesting point of note is that the Torah Portion of Miketz is read during Hanukkah. Miketz is about Joseph rising up to be second in command of all Egypt because he divinely interpreted the prophetic dream by Pharaoh of 7 years of plenty and 7 more years that would be of famine. With the Gog/Magog war resulting in the ability for the altar to be set up and operate during the time of Hanukkah (possibly in 2023) and initiate the 7 years of plenty and a further 7 years of famine, this Torah Portion gives us yet another poignant confirmation.

*** The dates of 2026/2033/2040 are also possible for the Gog/Magog war. These dates are based on the year that Yeshua returns in 2040 and then counting back 14 years which brings us to 2026. However, at this time, these dates don’t seem as credible as the 2023/2030 to 2036/2037 dates. The reason is that if the famine of the word is to happen from 2033 to 2040, it does not address how those in Judea will be nourished as they flee to a place of protection in 2037 – a full 3 ½ years before the ‘end’ of the famine. If they are being nourished, then there will not be a famine. Thus, the times of 2023/2030/2037 seem more likely (at this time). Either one fits the timeline but if 2023 comes and goes without any sign of the Gog/Magog war and its associated time of plenty of the word of Elohim, then the alternate date of 2026 will be the next watch time.

So… it appears that the prophecies are being unsealed now. We’re not reading them as though they are muddled fantasies filled with strange imagery anymore. It’s rather exciting, yet very sobering as we read what is truly coming. Even John experienced that when he was told to eat the little book in Revelation 10. It was sweet in his mouth but bitter in his stomach. That’s what we are experiencing now that the prophecies are being revealed – it’s exciting to know Elohim plan, but yet very sobering. Thus time will tell.

Again, this information is speculation, but it is compelling. The graphic below will offer a visual guide.
